Depending on your age, you may or may not remember the old station wagons. With that long and skinny look they would seat 5 passengers under normal circumstances. The cool thing was if you need room for a couple more people, there was usually a fold down seat that you could pop up in the rear. We called it “the way back” and all the kids wanted to sit back there. The wagons even had that cool tailgate that went down like a pickup truck, but also swung open side ways.(Check out the Honda Ridgeline truck for the only vehicle I’ve seen with that feature in the last 20 years)

But the station wagon went away in favor of the SUV and the Minivan. This is not necessarily a bad thing. These SUV’s look pretty cool, are high off the ground, and people feel safe in them. Minivans, though they sometimes have a bit of a stigma, are about as useful a vehicle that has ever been made. The amount of people matched with the massive cargo space and seating options make them like no other vehicle that has ever been made. Both of these will carry at least 7 passengers. Here are 7 of the most popular.

Fuel Cards

SUV
The larger SUV became hugely popular in the 1990′s. Gas was cheap, the economy was good and everybody wanted and SUV. Though things have changed over the last few years with the sky-high gas prices and the economy in the tank, many people still have the need for them. Most of them can get in around 20 MPG city/highway combined, which is not terribly awful.

Honda Pilot
The Pilot cam out in 2003 (to replace the Passport) and was always rated high from the start. The newest version came out in 2009 and did not disappoint. They come in 2WD or 4WD and have a Variable Cylinder Management system for better gas mileage.

Chevy Traverse
This 7 passenger vehicle, not quite as big as the Honda Pilot, gets high marks. Its V-6 is powerful and very fuel efficient.

Toyota Highlander
The most diverse of the 3, the Highland comes in both a 4cylider and 6 cylinder versions. In addition to that, and at an addition 00, it comes in a hybrid version as well.

The Minivan
The Dodge Caravan takes credit for the first Minivan to hit the streets back in the 1980′s. They were hugely popular form the beginning and have not slowed down a bit. Though they jokingly have the “Soccer Mom” stigma, many people of all ages drive these very useful and practical vehicles.

Chrysler Town and Country
Always rated in the Top 3 of Minivans, the Town and Country combines style with convenience. It signature feature is that all the seats, including the 2nd row, fold flat into the floor without you having to pull them out of the car.

Honda Odyssey
Again, ranked in the Top 3 since in came out. With its full captain’s chairs in the 2nd row, comfort and fuel efficiency are great benefits of the Odyssey. Look for a redesign of this great vehicle in 2010.

Toyota Sienna
Toyota’s 7 passenger vehicle is the only Minivan right now to offer a AWD option.

These are the best of the best and some of the most popular 7 seaters out there. This should get you started with your research and reviews

Happy vehicle hunting!

1. Deleting Errors in 48 Hours

This is the absolute fastest way to correct errors on your credit

report and raise your credit score. However, it can only be done

through a mortgage company or a bank. If you apply for a home

loan and find errors on your credit report, request the loan

officer to conduct a Rapid Rescore. But don’t mistake it for the

credit clinic tactic of multiple dispute letters.

Fuel Cards

The Rapid Rescore strategy requires proper paperwork. You need

proof that the item is incorrect. It must come from the creditor

directly. For example, a letter stating the account is not your

account, a letter stating the account was paid satisfactorily,

a release of lien, a satisfaction of judgment, a bankruptcy

discharge, a letter for deletion of collection account or any

relevant evidence.

This is the same documentation a bank or mortgage company would

require for the credit accounts anyways. The difference is, now

you can improve your credit score and receive a lower interest

rate. The results are not guaranteed and will run you about

per account.

2. Deleting Negative Credit

This is the infamous area where you’ve heard of all the scams.

Credit repair clinics charge “an arm and a leg” and promise a

clean credit report. Sometimes even a new credit profile! People

spending hundreds, or even thousands, of dollars for something

they can do themselves.

Removing errors is simple. Deleting negative credit that is

accurate requires advanced methods. But that is not the scope

of this report. So I’ll focus on the deleting the negative

errors.

Credit report errors easily disappear by using a simple dispute

letter. If you have the paperwork proving the error as mentioned

above in Rapid Rescore, send copies of that along with the

dispute letter. This will make the credit bureau’s job easier and

you will get faster results.

If you don’t have the documentation to prove the error(s), send

the dispute letter anyway. According to federal law, the credit

bureau’s have a “reasonable time” to validate your claim. They

will contact the creditor for verification of your dispute. Then

the account will be reported accurately – or deleted. It has been

generally accepted the “reasonable time” to complete this task is

30 days.

If you’re not the do-it-yourself kind of person. Or don’t have

the time. You could hire someone who is very economical.

3. PiggyBack Someone’s Credit

This is a fast and great little credit score booster. But it

requires a very trusting relationship. Simply put, someone else

adds you to their credit account. For example, when applying for

a credit card, you may have seen the section to add a card holder.

If your trusting person adds you, their payment history is now

reported on your credit report too. If they have perfect credit,

now you have a perfect account.

To make this more effective, use an aged account. Imagine if your

trusted person has a 10 year old credit card account with a

perfect payment history and a balance of only 50% of the credit

limit. Wouldn’t you love to have this on your credit report? The

easy part is your trusted person just calls the credit card

company and requests a form to add a cardholder. Once completed

and activated, their entire account history and future is now

firmly planted on your account. Imagine if you secured 3-5 of

these accounts – especially installment accounts. Your credit

score could sky-rocket!

The challenging part? Finding the trusted person. Since you already

have a low credit score and bad credit, how eager will someone be

to make you a cardholder? Even your parents don’t want you to

damage their credit. But, no one says you need to possess the card!

In other words, your trusted person could add you as a card holder

and never give you the card or PIN or any information. Since the

bills and all account information is still mailed to the trusted

person’s address, you won’t know anything about the account. This

scenario could land you many trusted persons. And you still benefit

with a higher credit score.

4. Playing Round Robin

This strategy is one of the oldest credit building techniques

around. It used to be accomplished with secured savings accounts.

But now, it’s much easier with secured credit cards. In fact,

I’ve used this method myself.

Here’s how it works: Take ,000 (or what you can afford) and get

a secured credit card. Once received, get a cash advance of 70%

of your credit limit. Get a second secured credit card. Once

received, get a cash advance of 70% of your credit limit. Get a

third secured credit card. Once received, get a cash advance of

70% of your credit limit.

Open a new checking account with the final cash advance. Use this

account only for making payments on your three new credit cards.

If you make your payments on time every month, your credit score

will increase because you now have three new perfect payment

credit cards. (Initially, your credit score might drop a few

points due to the rapid, multiple accounts being opened. However,

be patient because within 4 months of no new accounts or any

delinquencies of any account, you will see your credit score

increase. Mine increased 60 points in 60 days!!)

5. Pay on Time

This one is quite obvious. But after 12.5 years in the mortgage

business, I discovered it still needs repeating. Your creditors

were gracious enough to loan you money. Now pay your damn bills!

If you don’t, your credit score decreases. EVEN IF ONLY 30 DAYS

LATE!

That’s right folks. For some reason people think, “I’m only a

few weeks late. What’s the big deal?” Well, for the loan company,

if you pay late but consistent, they make a lot more money with

late fees and more interest (if a simple interest loan). For you,

your credit score is damaged. If you think long-term and credit

score, I’m certain you would not have a cavalier attitude.

6. Pay Down Debts

This seems like an obvious method, doesn’t it? But it is not as

transparent as you might think. Remember, we’re playing with

high-level statistics and probabilities which evaluates and

forecasts trends in your behavior. Here’s what you do…

Never pay off your revolving debt in it’s entirety! Isn’t that a

surprise? Think about it. Your credit score is a reflection of

your ability to manage your credit. Paying off your debt is not

managing your debt. If you have a zero balance, how can you manage

it? You don’t. It no longer exists. And you cannot manage what

does not exist, right? Therefore, in terms of credit score, you

have demonstrated your ability to swiftly pay off accounts to

avoid managing them. Thus, slightly decreasing your credit score.

One exception, of course, is if you’re over extended to begin

with. Pay off what’s necessary to make your credit profile look

great. Then manage the remaining credit.

7. Don’t Close Accounts

Even if you pay off revolving debts, do not close the account.

The longer an account is open with no negative reports, the

better it reflects in your overall credit score. This is due to

the weighted-average in the credit score formula. Many credit

experts suggest a balance of 30% of your credit limit. That’s

ideal. But you can go as high as 70% and still maintain a

healthy credit score.

8. No New Credit

You must be vigilant in your credit behavior if you want the best

credit score. Therefore, do not get any new credit unless it is

absolutely necessary. Each time you apply for credit, an inquiry

is added to your report. This usually drops your credit score

slightly. When you have fresh credit, there is no track record

how you will manage (or pay) this account. Therefore, it’s a

higher risk which results in a minor drop in your credit score.

Remember, your credit score is about risk assessment.

Here’s what you do: obtain credit for your housing, transportation,

college or continued education and 3-5 credit cards. That’s really

all you need for personal credit. If you want more credit, request

a credit limit increase on your current cards rather than apply

for new ones.

9. Maintain A Mix of Credit Types

If you show you can handle different types of credit at the same

time, you are rewarded with a great credit score. In other words,

get installment loans like vehicle, personal loan or mortgage.

Get revolving credit like credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, Sears,

Sunoco Gas, Costco. By mixing it up, you demonstrate you can

manage your credit because you will have short term and long term

credit with a fixed payment. As well as a “variable” monthly

payment on your credit cards.

Keep these accounts open with a balance of 70% or less and paid

on time and you will witness your credit score climb to great

heights.

10. Don’t File Bankruptcy or Foreclosure

Here’s the most obvious advice: Don’t file for bankruptcy or

foreclosure. These stay on your credit report for 10 years and

always decrease your credit score. The older the bankruptcy or

foreclosure account becomes, coupled with re-built credit

history, the less of an impact they play on your credit score.

Contrary to popular beliefs, you can legally delete a bankruptcy

and foreclosure. It’s not easy. But it’s possible. See the

advanced methods for that solution.

To quickly rebuild your credit history after a bankruptcy or

foreclosure, use the Round Robin strategy above and get secured

credit cards. Now you can even get a car loan or mortgage right

after bankruptcy.

Personal banking is similar to retail banking. The essence is that the products and services of the bank are tailored to meet individual banking and ancillary needs, including everything from a checking account to investment advice. The different products available through personal banking include checking accounts, savings accounts, CDs, check cards with rewards, different types of loans, and personal lines of credit, credit cards, personal trust and private banking services, mortgage programs, investment management, discount brokerage, insurance services and advisory services. Insurance, investment advice, and wealth management are high end products offered in personal banking.

The most prominent feature in personal banking today is technology- enabled, customized products and services like anywhere banking, ATMs, and the delivery of services through channels like a telephone and the Internet. The idea is that the customer need not come to the branch for their services and that everything should be delivered to the customer at his convenience. The bank will provide single window service, meaning that customers can visit one counter for any banking need.

Fuel Cards

Personal banking is quickly catching up in almost all the countries in the world and is expected to contribute significantly to the bank’s total revenue. Almost 15-20% of the customers contribute up to 90% of the banks business, so proper service to these customers will deepen the financial relationships.

Everyone with a personal bank account needs to be very cautious and pay close attention to all aspects of their account. People should promptly review their bank statement, avoid having to pay unnecessary fees and bank charges, avoid leaving discarded bank documents behind, avoid banking online in public places, and periodically change their password.

Making a candy bar card to mark a special occasion can be a novel and memorable way to make someone’s day. All it takes is a little thought and a few simple materials, plus a few chocolates of course. This way your project winds up being a sweet gift as well as a greeting card.

Here is How to Make Your Card

Fuel Cards

First think about the reason you want to make the card. Is it to mark a special birthday or anniversary? Has someone achieved a goal? Do you want to mark the beginning (a wedding?) or an end (retirement?) of something?

With your occasion in mind, the next step is to take a trip to the local supermarket and to browse the confectionery aisles. Look for candy bars with names that suit your theme or message. Purchase your chocolates. You may choose small candy bars or individually wrapped chocolates, for example. You just need to be able to read the name of the treat and the sweet needs to be a suitable size for attaching to your card with pins or adhesive.

Now look for some cardboard or thin Styrofoam to make the backing for your card. The bigger the backing, the easier it will be for a group of people to read your message, and the more chocolates you can fit into your message. Make sure your backing is strong enough to support the weight of your chocolates as well.

The next step is to head home to lay out the chocolates in front of the computer. I spend some time brainstorming ways to make a message for my friend or family member, using the chocolates to help spell out my message.

When I have a message in mind, I type it into a word document. Then I format the font (I like Verdana) to be about the same size as the words on my chocolates. I leave some space between my lines of text so I can cut the words of the message apart when I print them out. If you would rather write out your message by hand or spell it out with alphas, paint or even words cut from magazines, of course you can.

After printing my message and cutting out the phrases or words, I start pinning the message to the board or backing sheet.

Work out the middle of your message and lay the words on the middle of the backing sheet. Do they fit where you want them? Can you fit your chocolate words in too? If everything fits, start pinning or adhering the words and chocolates to your backing sheet.

It should not take long to finish making the candy bar card once you know what you want to say.

A Message Idea for Your Candy Bar Card:

To get you started, here is a message I made up for a Father’s Day candy bar card:

I would have to go to MARS to find a Dad like you. Ever since I was a BABE (Ruth) you always TAKE 5 to BOOST me up when I am down. You are a TOP DECK kind of Dad!

I trust you will be inspired to make your own special candy bar card now, but be warned. If you are anything like me, there is a hazard involved in making this type of card. It is the temptation to eat the chocolates before they reach their intended recipient!

Often smart entrepreneurs look for out of the way businesses, things out of the mainstream but businesses, which have a good customer base and steady incomes. This is an extremely interesting story. I had always considered the mobile truck washing efforts to be very profitable and believed that fixed truck washes were a big waste of money. That was until one year when a new franchisee joined our team from Oklahoma City. I run a franchise company called the Car Wash Guys; http://www.carwashguys.com. Turns out the franchisee was formerly employed by Blue Beacon Truck Washes the largest chain of truck washes in the US. They do about 8,000,000 per year with 80 truck washes and the company is very closely held. Tim our franchisee was a truck manager for them and before buying into our franchise and started washing cars in OKC even though he knows truck washing best. He had a two-year non-compete with his old company, which we have honored in OKC. He has tons of experience and had indicated to me that the business is sound and we should really get into it. Later that year I sold a franchise to a person in WA State who owned car washes (5) and he made a deal with a truck stop on an Indian Reservation, he never started the plan, but the numbers we ran on the spreadsheet looked great and very profitable.

Even as a serial entrepreneur, I had never considered the fixed site truck wash business, as the mobile truck wash business seemed so much more efficient and so little over head; http://www.truckwashguy.com . So even with all this knowledge on the team we still did not enter that market. One of our competitors in the car washing industry bought up two

truck washing chains for a total of fourteen truck washes and proclaimed it more profitable than his other car washes by 5 times as much money. They now own nearly 100 locations of truck and car washes nationwide. After looking into it some more a franchise buyer who owned Fuel MAN, an East coast Fuel Card for fleet owners approached us in South Carolina to use the Truck Wash Guys name and develop a truck wash mid state. At that point we decided to start working on the details. Then a franchisee in OH made a deal with a truck stop between Columbus OH and Pittsburgh, to operate a 24 hour truck wash and de-ice business. He thought how easy this is and now so we have made deal in WV at a truck wash as well. Our Ohio Franchisee at the time took on another partner in WV.

Fuel Cards

Still reluctant to fully dive into the subcategory of full service truck washes we found our Ohio Franchisee going full guns to put together a deal with Pilot Truck Stops. Pilot Truck Stop has the most Truck Stops on the Planet and sells 8% of all the diesel fuel in the United States. So we planned a pilot program at pilot. Our temporary set up is a trailer unit, which sits at the truck stops and washes made sense. We then worked on plans for a building to submit them to the Building dept. for approval, meanwhile the deals in

OH and WV and SC were suddenly in the works. We figured if our deal with the truck stops worked well, the Truck Stops will get more traffic and fuel sales while we generate

revenue and a percentage of the total take for the truck stop for the privilege of working there. We are so use to washing trucks and have on our team a gentleman who sells simonize truck wash and has been in the car washing and pressure washing equipment business for 20 years. By using the fuel man fuel cards as currency on the east coast and name recognition of Pilot we figured we could move into this industry and pick up the slack.

There is a shortage of truck washes across the country and also a shortage of oil change facilities for trucks. A franchisee could be trained by our truck wash prototypes and probably on the top performing franchisee in our mobile truck wash

division; then quickly set up in their own markets. Pressure Washing companies which specialize in fleet truck washing should in fact consider this type of strategy for moving into the fixed site truck washing business.

If you study entrepreneurial companies you will in fact see that many companies fall into markets due to opportunities which present themselves, it is amazing the opportunities which exist out there and how fast companies can grow when they can handle the demand of those markets. Think on this.

Wal-Mart is such a big store, and the chain of stores makes it the largest in the world. Did you know that Wal-Mart employs more people than any other private business in the United States? In almost every area there can be found a Wal-Mart within driving distance. It’s no wonder that so many people are looking for free gift cards from Wal-Mart, you can get anything from clothes to groceries to electronics to car parts at Wal-Mart. But are free gift cards from Wal-Mart really free? How can you make sure that you aren’t just giving something away without getting anything in return?

If you are looking for free gift cards from Wal-Mart you will no doubt come across many offers. Some of them are legitimate, others are bogus. The ones that are bogus are not always so easy to spot. People just love to take other people’s money, and they tend to be good at it. Usually you will find that when there are free offers, like those for Wal-Mart cards or other department store cards you will have to participate in their program in some way or another. Now this isn’t to say that you can’t come out on top. Many times their program offers you benefits that exceed the offer of the free gift card, and you end up getting the gift card for free and then saving a lot of money by using their services. Just make sure that you read the fine print and know what you are getting into first.

There are many websites offering standard verses and thank you messages but to save you some time I have searched around and found some of my favourite thank you messages to write in cards.

Fuel Cards

o Thank you just isn’t enough! You’re the best!

o Thank you for all you do – you are a true friend.

o Thank you much more

Than a greeting can say,

Because you were thoughtful

In such a nice way!

o This brings sincere thanks

for the lovely gift you sent.

We hope it helps to tell you

just how much it meant.

o Heartfelt Thanks…for all that you have done.

o The world’s a better place

Because of folk like you

Who take the time to do nice things

The way you always do.

o Even if every flower in the world had a voice I couldn’t send as many as it would take to say thanks enough!

If you are a keen crafter and make handmade cards it is a good idea to make up a selection of thank you cards. Once you have found a few different thank you messages to write in cards you can then add them to your handmade cards so that you have them ready in your supplies for when you need to send one.

Thank you messages to write in cards do not have to be overly sentimental and sometimes a few lines with a more humorous feel may suit the occasion better.

It important to think about what you are thanking the person for so that you can find suitable thank you messages to write. If you are sending the card to a loved one or relative something more heartfelt may be more appreciated. If it is for a colleague or a company expressing gratitude for a service they have provided then consider something more factual and detail why you are happy with the service they have provided.

Trying to come up with your own thank you messages to write in cards may be a hard task, especially if you want a verse that rhymes or are pushed for time. It is possible to have poems written for you however this can prove costly. If you really are stuck for ideas or need some inspiration then the best solution is to visit online sites that provide free thank you messages to write in cards. Finding the right words when sending a card can make all the difference. If the words fit the occasion then it really shows you have put time and effort into finding the right message.

All companies evolve and change to meet the needs of their customers, and banks are no different. While some features run at cost to the bank, it makes no sense today why customers should be charged for them. This article cover Debit Card PIN Fees – when a bank charges you when you use your debit card like a debit card! This is because the bank pays a small transaction fee.

There are two ways you can pay with your check card-either by signature or by PIN. The first is a ‘credit-style’ charge. This way, the fee is only posted to your account later, sometimes by a couple days. The second payment method is a debit transaction, which applies to your account immediately. For some of us with relatively low balances and/or who want to keep track of our payments through online banking, PIN payments make the most sense.

Fuel Cards

But some banks charge you for using your PIN – for using your check card like a check card! This charge runs from .30 to .00 each time you use your card. Does the card provider charge the bank differently when you use your signature? Yes. But you as a consumer should look out for banks that apply this arcane charge. Most banks don’t charge for this-you should easily find an account without it. Most consumers would rather concern themselves with watching how much money they spend each day than with the method they use to spend it. Avoid this fee like the plague!

We’ve all seen the movie Road Warrior, and it was a great flick indeed, and yet, somewhat scary when you think about it. After all, what would happen if the US ran out of oil completely? Some say not much, but I would beg to differ. Why you ask? Well, simple really, everything we have comes by truck, train, or plane, sometimes some of all three. School buses take our children to school and the US is a mobile society, without fuel, ouch!

But some say it’s even worse than that, in fact, one “doom and gloom” caller, a tourist from the Middle East, called into our radio show the other day stated; “Imagine what will happen in the US if you actually run out of fuel. Your people are already armed to the teeth. If you run out of fuel it will take 24 hours to turn you all into animals. No if’s, ands, or buts.”

Fuel Cards

Baloney, I said, but then I thought about it. Would people turn on one another over gasoline? And what about food shortages, everyone would be forced to stay home. Would people riot in the streets? It could be a component of a Civil War, but it wouldn’t be the cause.

In fact, I truly believe that our free-market would solve the problem in short order. All the government has to do is deregulate the small business inventor, entrepreneur and millions of people like me would solve the problem using the free market system. Heck, maybe Americans would lose some weight.

Oh and too that caller or any other international citizen listening, yes, our nation is armed to the teeth, you wouldn’t even believe me if I told you. Enough so, that the citizenry alone could fight off any Army invading, and yes we do have enough bullets to fend them off. Well, I hope you enjoyed today’s topic alright.

If you have a new credit card that offers rewards points, but you aren’t quite sure how the system works, the information presented here will help you. Let’s take a look at what credit cards with rewards points programs are, and how you use them.

Rewards points are an incentive to use your credit card. Each time you use your card, you receive points based on the amount of money you charged. These points accumulate and can be redeemed for many different rewards, depending upon the card you’re using. Rewards can include:

Fuel Cards

Airline miles

Free or discounted gas or groceries

Free or discounted hotel rooms or other travel accommodations

Free tickets to movies or events

Priority alerts and/or admission to events

Cash rebates

Household and entertainment items

Your monthly credit card statement will give you an overview of how many points you’ve earned, based on how much you’ve charged. Credit card companies or your bank will provide you with a catalog of rewards, or have a catalog available for viewing online.

The catalog will outline how many points you need to earn for a given item. If you are redeeming points for airline miles you will have a running total of miles earned. Note that when you redeem airline miles, your reward is calculated differently based on the credit card and your airline.
